Hi, I'm Cody! I've been building for the web for over 12 years. SOIVIS is the version of an agency I always wished existed: small, technical, and accountable to the work.

By day I lead the web team at OpenVPN, a company with products that millions of people use, and I obsess over the slow, careful work that keeps it usable for everyone.

SOIVIS is the studio side of that practice. I take on a small number of projects each year, principal-led from scope to ship. No junior handoffs, no account managers between you and the work.

Micro is a feature.
Not a hedge.

Soivis is intentionally small. That means fewer projects, deeper work, and a shorter line between the person who scopes the project and the person who ships it. Here's what that looks like.

01

One project at a time

No portfolio of half-built sites. Whatever I am working on, it has full attention until launch.

02

Principal-led, end to end

The same person scoping your build is writing the code, running the standups, and answering the email at 9pm.

03

Built to be handed off

Custom CMS, plain documentation, no proprietary lock-in. When you outgrow us, you take a real codebase with you.

// who we work with

SMBs, ops leads, and product founders.

Most of our clients are small businesses outgrowing a Squarespace site, or product teams who need a one-off web app without hiring a full team to build it.

If you need a marketing brochure-ware site, there are cheaper places. If you need an enterprise rebrand with twelve stakeholders, there are bigger ones. If you're somewhere in between and want it done properly — talk to me.

// 03 · principles

A few things I believe.

01

Accessibility isn't a feature.

It's the foundation. I design and code to WCAG 2.1 AA from day one — not as a checklist at the end.

02

Speed is a design problem.

Bad performance is a UX bug. I set a budget at kickoff and stay inside it. Lighthouse green is the floor.

03

Small means accountable.

No account managers, no offshore handoffs. The person scoping is the person coding is the person shipping.

04

Custom over templates.

Templates make every site look like every other site. I build to your content, your audience, your voice.

05

Plain language wins.

In our copy, our contracts, our standups. If I can't explain a tradeoff to you, it's the wrong tradeoff.

06

Ship, then sharpen.

Six weeks to launch, ninety days of support, an open invitation to keep working with us after. No theatre.
